Collection„Around the cello”

Collection „Autour du Violoncelle” dirigée par Barbara Marcinkowska

The “Autour du Violoncelle” collection was created by me at Armiane Publishing House in 1997. It primarily promotes contemporary music for solo cello or accompanied by another instrument. The principle is that the pieces must be short, up to 10 minutes. Composers from many countries have composed pieces specifically for this collection. It is also a meeting of music and painting, and occasionally includes poetry quotations. Each cover features an original graphic work by painters from many countries. The pieces have been classified by difficulty to make them accessible to young people as part of the promotion of contemporary music. The second collection, “Violoncelle mon ami,” is intended for children.
